Selby 3 Lakes Catch Report

21st August - 15th October

Well Here We Go Again! (Before we start with another catch report I know that I will have missed some anglers off, and anybody reading this can add to it please feel free to do so!!!!!!!!)
An OLD friend came back down the A19 to pay us a visit ALBEIT ON HIS OWN: Brian paid us a coat of looking at and told us he liked what he had seen and would be back down again.  Whether his gang would return to its original number of “3” he didn’t know as the other 2 had apparently at last got their flight feathers and come out from under Big Bri’s wings and had flown THE NEST.  We last heard rumours that they were fishing a NORTH EAST PUDDLE. That again if you listen to rumours is a BIT HUSH HUSH., AND THE OWNER APPARENTLY CAN BE!!!!!!!!!!!
(NUFF SAID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Lovely to see you again BRI!
(After all that can’t remember if he DID or DID NOT CATCH we will go for BLANKED! You looked a bit more CHILLED WITHOUT HAVING TO TAKE CARE OF THOSE OTHER TWO COMEDIANS BRIAN
Gary, the one & only Leeds Hippy put in an appearance
Again good to see an old face, In Garry’s case a VERY Old Face! (Only joking Gary it was MORE THAN NICE to see you again)
Colin Harris From Matlock fished the TEDDY BEAR SWIM AND LANDED A NICE BRACE OF A 19.4 & a 17.4
ERIC FRANCIS fished Abbots and did well with a result that consisted of a 19.6 and two commons; 14 and a 16.8
Jerry Ogden fished the bricks and had a 20.1
Richard Reall did a couple of days and is now known as the original RUBBER HOOK: Lost 3 FISH AND LANDED 1 OF 20lb.1oz
Steve Stead fished the ever growing popular peg (abbots) and did a brace or doubles
Steve Donnelly from Oldham had a double figure Common
Colin Henry from Matlock had two fish a 17.4 and a 19.2
Larry Taylor fished The Bricks peg and had yet again 2 fish 21.6 and a 17.10
Mick Vinter from Wakefield had a common of 17.4
That man “THE SPOD” HAS BEING BACK AND HAS A STOCKEY OUT THAT DID 20lb ON THE KNOT!  The photo’s are on the site for all to see
Paul John Steel booked a party of anglers on and he himself put the icing on the cake, when he was packing up landed a Ghostie of 17lb. Almost forgot the lads were from Liverpool. (one of the lads brought up his young son reckon he could be a carp angler to watch for in the future)
Stephen from York has paid us another visit (Stephen is becoming a regular which suits me as a nicer fella you would struggle to meet) and he managed to put another fish to 17lb to his tally
Ricky North from just up the road at Askern made his first visit fishing with a mate and Ricky on for the first time of asking did the job landing a 22lb Mirror.  Ricky has assured me that he will send a photo in to the web site
NICE ONE RICKY
I OWE LEE FROM TODMORDON A LARGE APOLOGY
I forgot to mention Lee’s previous visit to bring his tally up to date he has had 6 fish to 18lb & another apology to Lee as I have forgot his surname
Lee always makes the trip on his own and it is always a pleasure to see him
Nick Jagger fished kiddies and had a nice double out that is a perfect linier (remember that being stocked this year and thinking what a fish that will be in years to come when it gets some weight on it)
Richard Dixon from Notts fished in Birch’s and had a couple of fish biggest being a common of 19.2
Trevor Walker from Sutton Coldfield fished in the Kennel and had a 20.2
Steve Johnson from York has been at it again with a lovely common from the back of lake one at 17.2 Steve assures me that he is sending a picture to Alan for the web site. Cheers Steve!!!
Colin Ashley from Rotherham did a two night stint the first night he shared a bivvy with a mate, the second night his partner turned up (his mate was a bit upset that he was having to put up his own bivvy and spend the second night on his own) if you had seen Colin’s partner each and every angler on the lake would have kicked their mate out!!! She was a very nice person and to say she had the looks to go with her personality would be under statement.
Again I will have missed some captures so please e-mail Alan with any catch reports and pictures!!!

Apologies for the recent lack of catch reports, after asking anglers on the bank to send reports in themselves with photo’s etc THIS HAS NOW SHOWED ITSELF AS NOT BEEN A SUCCESS TO SAY THE LEAST!

KIDDING OR NOT?? DIDN’T ASK ???????????????????????
DIDN’T ASK WHAT SIZE OR MAKE EITHER!

Paul Dixon Doncaster fished the back of the lake can’t remember which peg (no I didn’t write it down) and had a good brace: 18.8 and a 19.4 then rang me as they were leaving to tell me he had a 23.2 as he was all packed up with only the rods left to pack away (would appreciate the pics you told me you were going to let me have please)

Thomas Edwards from Fleetwood fishing Teddy Bear for a 15.0 common and a 19.0

I will have missed some catch reports off as a lot of anglers have left on a Sunday morning at times before I get down.

Please e-mail Alan with any that I have missed and some of the photo’s promised would be really appreciated!

Pat O’Brien from Donny had a 15.8 Pike and a 15.10 Common.  Abbots was the peg, Pat also enjoyed an Indian FOR 2 and ate the lot!!!

Mike Donnelly fished the Teddy Bear, he also had 2 fish a 16.3 and a 14.12 both Commons and he enjoyed his own cooking and his own company as he and Pat had a domestic over a LADY FRIEND!!!!! (Hope They Have Made Up!)

Derrick Hawthorn made his first trip of the year over from Nelson, fished in Kiddies and had four fish out , none of which went anywhere near to giving Derrick a new PB, however Derrick gave the ‘NEW ERA’ a thumbs up which was pleasing.

George Burrowdale made the trip over with Derrick and fished the Bricks swim, he also had a good time taking 3 fish (HOPE YOU HAVE GOT RID OF SOME SOIL GEORGE)

Neil Kelly from Leeds had a 13lb Common

Big News on the bank was Graham THE SPOD BROKE HIS DUCK!

Graham will be the first to tell you that he is not the luckiest angler, however he did it Big Style out of Abbots nailing a total of five fish, again doubles

(The Stockies are on the rampage it would seem)

Well done SPOD you worked hard for those fish!

Carl Bowman from Lancashire had a brace of doubles.

Chris Williams from Barnsley fished in Abbots and had a total of SIX fish out. Chris came with his girlfriend (to which I apologise to her as I didn’t get her name), Chris and his girlfriend have sent some pictures into Alan and they are now on the NEW UP AND RUNNING GALLERY.

Talking of our own webmaster Alan. He has being up and has being amongst the fish (don’t know what his final tally was) so will leave it up to Alan to give us the finer points.  (I finished with 2 carp at 12lb and 13lb on a day session – Alan)

Sean Royal from Castleford had a good session catching, wait for it… NINE!!! (Sean, Rich and Blaine are I hope going to become regulars as this trio of anglers are a set of cracking lads, and they know how to catch fish)
These stockies seem to be munching for England!

WELL DONE MATE GOOD ANGLING

Blaine Kellett again from Castleford had three fish

Dylan Bethlehem from Leeds fished Teddy bear.  Dylan caught a few Pike and a mirror of 14lb, It was good to see Dylan and it was even better to see him catch a few well done mate, and thanks for the words of encouragement regarding the New Era.

Do I think I have missed anybody off? I know I have as I have misplaced or lost the book I wrote some catch reports in, SORRY!

Rich the other member of the CAS THREE!!! had some fish out at the weekend (photo in the gallery!), His Dad also caught from the Bricks swim.

Again to those of you who gave me a catch report that have not appeared if you want to ring me or send an e-mail through to Alan that would be much appreciated, and keep the photos coming in for the gallery!

Here we go with our First Catch Report of the NEW ERA!

March - 16th April 2008

Having now Introduced FORTY SEVEN new carp into our lake (with many more to follow!), these new arrivals would seem to have gone in very hungry and very active and are proving to be hard fighting fish from the off!!!!!!  This is giving the lads some good sport while we eagerly await the original warriors to awake from their winter dormancy.
So here we go:

The first of our regulars to appear (after themselves lying dormant over the long winter months!) were no other than the O’Connor brothers Kevin and OUR KID!!!  (AKA JED)
It has to be said that Kevin usually has the lions share of the fish between the two of them, HOWEVER ON THIS OCCASION NOT!
JED was more than happy in the sub zero temperatures to hit into the new fish on the block, six fish was his tally to high doubles.
It has to be said that Kevin was more than happy for his brother as Jed has suffered some lean spells at times when Kevin has done some HAULIN!!!
To those of you that can’t place Kevin & Jed “THE BARBAQUE BROTHERS”

Hob Knob JOSH had a double which pleased us, as Josh unlike many others has done a bit over winter so it was good to see him get an early doors fish.
Come on DAZ are you going to be playing catch up again? (DAZ) being HOB KNOBS Dad.

Graham THE SPOD has resurfaced "THE BREAM MACHINE", Nuff Said!
You’ve guessed it… next out off hibernation is none other than ‘the infamous THREE’,  The Man Himself and the leader of the trio SNIPER, the one and only HOTPOINT MICK, followed by SAB (NO he and SAMANTHA didn’t tie the knot over the winter months as many of us suspected they would)

Where do we start… HOTPOINT ‘the doubles machine’ lived up to his reputation, landing five fish in the sub zero temperatures.  The newly stocked fish giving Mick a flying start to his year, Mick also lost a fish and by all accounts A BIG UN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sniper also had a couple of fish one of them old and the other new, nothing big by Snipers standards but again in what was a cold (freezing) weekend a good result all the same.
Sab, not to be outdone by his comrades also had a nice double out, and did this without his lucky charm… the STUNNING SAMANTHA stayed at home with the central heating on full blast while her man braved the elements.

That’s it until next time and by then hopefully some of old friends will have got their ‘OH!! SPRING HAS ARRIVED’ HEADS ON. “LETS GO FISHING”. WE also as usual look forward to meeting some new faces on the bank and making some new friends in the forthcoming months!
